As someone who worked in the White House following January 6, I know how fragile our democracy is as extremists attack our freedoms here at home and abroad. Meanwhile, Congress continues to play political games when it comes to our long-term security and stability.

We must stand up against these threats to democracy by ensuring free and fair elections, with a peaceful transfer of power, and protecting the right to vote so that all eligible Americans have equal access to the ballot box. I will be a staunch defender of democracy in Congress.
